Hello Bitches!
Best headline about the Lions victory over the Redskins: "Washington Bails out Detroit Again." Haha but congrats to the Lions for getting a win, that being said Stafford played out of his mind on 3rd down, I don’t think he’ll play that well again anytime soon.
Standings for NFL Spreads pool (picking games based on spreads):
Rebecca Varnes: 31
Justin Williams: 29
CO Varnes: 24
Let's pick it up CO!
Credit to Shaun Hill, he played his best game as a pro against the Vikings, he looked poised against a tough pass rush, he’s only INT was not on him but on Delanie Walker, Walker slipped as and feel down giving Cedric Griffin the easy pick. Great pass by Favre to win the game, an even better catch and route by Greg Lewis… the Pats might be fishing they had kept Lewis and cut Joey Galloway who looks awful.
Quick thoughts from week 3:
- Percy Harvin Is Who We Thought He Was, Part One: He takes a kickoff back 101 yards for a touchdown. He has ridiculous speed. Once he got in the clear, he appeared to be the only player on the field who was running
- Percy Harvin Is Who We Thought He Was, Part Two: He drops a pass that would have converted a first down, and San Francisco gets the ball back, down by only 3
- Atlanta might be over-rated, wins over 2 teams that are 0-3. The Defense is still in the bottom half of the league in terms of effectivenes
- Kurt Warner looked old against the Colts, bad timing/communication between him and receivers
- Josh Johnson will make some waives as Bucs starting QB, sick athleticism, great throwing mechanics, good ball security, 4.4 forty time
- Miami trading for Tyler Thigpen makes sense, Pat White is not an NFL QB, Thigpen is a great athlete and can run the spread/wildcat effectively
- Trent Edwards is way too conservative to be a good NFL QB, refused to test the Saints secondary deep despite having a great WR core and one of the most explosive WRs in the NFL in Lee Evans.
- Moreno looks like a young LT minus the breakaway speed, great burst, excellent vision, unreal agility, fantastic moves at the second level, great power to get extra yards after contact
- Mike Sims-Walker and David Garrard have very precise timing/Anticipation. No doubt that he is team's #1 WR going forward
- Jamarcus Russell / Brady Quinn continue to battle it out for worst QB in the NFL, in the 2nd half against the Broncos Russell was sacked (2) more than he had passing yards (1).
- Orlando Pace of the Bears looks like a corpse, letting Seattle defenders by him like a turn-style
- Seahawks jersey’s looked the Nighttime construction guys on the highway, if I were a coach I’d bust those things out all the time, so distracting for the other team.

Weekly Recap
Game of the week – J Dub (102) Brooks (100) – I was just able to sneak by Brooks with a win, Drew Brees put up a clunker with only 5 fantasy points. I was still down by 1 point in the final hour when Vinatieri nailed a field goal to ensure the victory, I believe I picked him up off waivers. Brooks avoided playing Darren McFadden and still lost, that’s just how it goes sometimes.
Jack (86) over Jake (62) – Jake’s WR situation is starting to look grim. Wes Welker is out for who knows how long, TO has been a complete bust in Buffalo, and put up a goose egg this week. Santonio Holmes put up a few big games but has shown a lot of inconsistency the last 2 weeks, dropping passes and being out of sync with Big Ben, this week he put up less than 2 points. For Jack, it was a big day from Aaron Rodgers, throwing for almost 300 yards, 3 TDs and running for another that put the game out of reach.
CO (96) over Dabbs (69) – Dabbsie comes crashing back down to earth. Frank Gore left the Vikings game after only a few carries after suffering an ankle injury that will sideline him for the next 3 weeks, and the rest of his team didn’t do much either. CO made some inexplicably bad coaching decisions and still won with ease.
Dog of the Week – Wolfy (107) over Atkins (81) – Atkins drops his 3rd straight game and looks like the hapless Dabbs team of 2008. Atkins team actually has a lot of production, his problem will be figuring out who to trust on a week by week basis, something which he has shown no capability in doing thus far…. Starting 0-3 might be a death sentence if he doesn’t turn it around against Team Box lunch next week.
Awards
Matt Dabbs Coaching Blunders of the Week
CO, CO, and CO – For Benching MJD (33) & Brandon Jacobs (15) or Anquan Boldin (14) for Devery Henderson (4) and Fred Jackson (9). The fact that CO can make so many blatant coaching blunders and still got win is pathetic. While Fred Jackson v. New Orleans was a decent match-up, MJD against the awful, terrible, disgraceful Texans defense had to easily be one of the best matchups of the week. Pocket Hercules made him pay by putting up a triple TD performance. Playing Devery Henderson over proven studs is just disgraceful. Henderson occasionally has an outburst, but the other half of the time he plays inconsistent, drops passes, and generally looks like he belongs in the CFL. Starting him above other great matchups – B.Jacbos against the anemic Bucs, and A.Boldin against the Colts is asinine, idiotic, pathetic, and any other pejorative that comes to mind. God I hate Dabbs for letting you win. CO’s text to me after MJD’s 3rd TD about sums it up: “I have jones-drew on the bench… FML”
Wolfy – Big Ben over Peyton Manning – Just when I start to have a sliver of respect for Dogmeat, he goes and pulls a move like this…. Which makes me wonder, do you even watch football? Benching Peyton Manning is almost unthinkable unless maybe you had whoever was playing the 2008 Lions. The Bangles defense is actually pretty respectable this year, definitely in the top half of the league. Oh and you also had Ronnie Brown on the bench against the Chargers… The Chargers without Jamal Williams are suddenly a suspect run defense.
Non-Miller Lite Good Calls of the Week
J Dub – Picking up and playing Mike-Sims Walker at the last minute for 6.1 points. Well my receivers were banged up or named Eddie Royal, so I needed a Sunday waiver wire wonder to get me through the week, I selected the little-know Mike-Sims Walker who has a lot of talent but has never managed to stay healthy long enough to show much. While he’s finally healthy and now with overrated Troy Williamson out of the way, he’s the number one for the Jags underrated offense moving forward. His 6 catch, 81 yard performance was marred by a lost fumble, but I needed all 6 of his points for the win.
The rest of you fail, no one else was worthy of this award, I stand alone this week.
A lot of great matchups next week: NYJ @ NO, DAL @ DEN, BAL @ NE!
Stay Classy Bitches,
- JW
